


Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is a comprehensive approach to managing water resources in a way that considers the connections between water, land, and ecosystems. Instead of handling water supply, agriculture, and environmental protection separately, IWRM brings them together under one coordinated system to ensure sustainability and efficiency.

በጥቅጥቅ ባለ ጫካና ረጃጅም የዘንባባ ዛፎች በተከበበ ሩቅ ሞቃታማ አካባቢ፣ አንድ አካባቢያዊ ገበሬ በሚያምር ሁኔታ በተደረደሩ የቅጠል አትክልቶች ረድፎች መካከል ይንቀሳቀሳል። በቀይ-ቡናማ ለም አፈር ላይ የሚያብቡ አረንጓዴ ሰብሎች፣ ሞቃታማ አካባቢዎች ውስጥ የትናንሽ ደረጃ እርሻ ያለውን አቅም ያሳያሉ። እንደዚህ ያሉ ፕሮጀክቶች ለአካባቢ ማህበረሰቦች የምግብ ዋስትናን ከመደገፍ ባሻገር፣ ዘላቂ እርሻ ከተፈጥሮ ስነ-ምህዳር ጋር አብሮ ሊኖር እንደሚችል ያሳያሉ። ጥቂት ሀብቶችን እና ባህላዊ ዕውቀትን በመጠቀም፣ ገበሬዎች የጫካ ቦታዎችን ቤተሰቦችንና ገበያዎችን የሚያበሉ ምርታማ የአትክልት ስፍራዎች እያደረጓቸው ነው።

The EAPP Secretary General made a courtesy call to the Ministry of Water and Energy (MOWE) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on 5th July, 2023 at the MOWE headquarters in Addis Ababa. The meeting was graced with the presence of H.E Dr. Eng Habtamu Itefa and the State Minister for Energy Dr. Sultan Wali. The CEO of Ethiopia Electric Power (EEP) Mr. Ashebir Balcha was also in attendance.

Ethiopia's federal body managing water (supply, sanitation, resources) and energy (development, policy, renewables), focusing on sustainable development, policy creation, resource planning (dams, irrigation), and technical support for national water/energy goals, including regional cooperation and transboundary water management.

The completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) stands as a historic milestone, ushering in a transformative era for Ethiopia and the broader Nile Basin region, a senior water resources expert affirmed.
